SURGERY
We take surgery very seriously. We strongly suggest a blood profile and ECG prior to any anesthesia. The Anesthetics we use are modern and safe. However, they must still be processed by the kidneys and liver. The blood profile alerts us to problems with these organs. The ECG is sent via the phone line to a board certified veterinary cardiologist. He reads the ECG and he will advise us if we need to alter our anesthetic plan.
During Surgery all pets are monitored with state of the art equipment. This allows us to see the heart rate, blood oxygen content, body temperature, and blood pressure. In addition to these mechanical devices, a technician and doctor are always present for every procedure. |

CHECK-UP
Check-ups are the most important thing we do. Often with routine check-ups we can detect an abnormality early, before a problem exists. This allows for earlier intervention usually resulting in less suffering for the pet and less cost for the owner. We recommend exams twice a year. Our pets age 7 years for each of ours. So in 6 months your pet has aged 3.5 years. Thats a long time to go without a physical. |

PREVENTIVE MEDICINE
Preventative care is an intregal part of check-ups. In addition to exams, we recommend vaccinations, worm checks, dental care, ear care and routine grooming. We strongly believe in being pro-active not re-active. Preventing disease is much cheaper and more effective then treating disease. |

PHARMACY
We have a complete and fully stocked pharmacy on site. In this pharmacy we keep the medications that are most commonly needed by our patients. These can be antibiotics, pain killers special diets, etc. In those rare instances where something else may be needed, we will assist you in obtaining it. |

|
DENTISTRY
The goal of dental services is to preserve teeth. When pets are examined, their teeth are always checked. When tarter starts to build up, we will recommend a dental cleaning with polishing. If the tarter has progressed to gingivitis or periodontal disease, we will recommend care that is specific for the individual pet. |

BOARDING
We provide boarding in an air conditioned area. Pets are mostly confined to individual cages. In addition pets are walked at least 3 times daily. All pets that board must be current on vaccinations, and a bath is required prior to pick-up. Pets that are infested with fleas will be treated prior to being placed in our kennel. We strive to make your pets stay both safe and pleasant. |

TRAINING/OBEDIENCE
We do not directly offer training. However we can recommend a trainer who is very good and caring. He offers both in home classes and group classes. He teaches a group class on our property. We believe a trained dog is a much better pet. |

Identification
We strongly recommend microchipping your pet. This involves the implantation of a chip under you pets skin. This chip can not be lost. The advantage of this chip is that if you pet is lost, stolen or hurt, he can be scanned and his owner can be identified. The procedure for implanting the chip is simple and relatively pain free. No anesthesia is required and it take only a few minutes. Incidently, this chip can not be tracked, it only is for identification, not monitoring. |
